Welcome to India's unique culinary adventure on 4402 Princess Anne Road (Next to HESS WILCO), Virginia Beach of which Grand opening ribbon cutting celebration was done by The Mayor of Virginia Beach. People from all walks of life attended grand opening celebration. After ribbon cutting ceremony, a religious ceremony of tika was performed by Mrs.Chhabra. Rajput Indian Cuisine has been serving Hampton Roads since 1999. The Virginia Beach location is a little twist in fine Indian dining and does not carry freezer. This nouvelle approach to the Indian Cuisine is the first of its kind in Virginia. Our signature dishes are served with organic greens, low fat herb yogurt, and brown rice. The organic wine selection is a perfect compliment to this experience. Some of the ingredients are organically grown and provide a healthy touch to this wholesome cuisine.
Rajput also offers pre fixed meals for those who have dietary restrictions but would still like to indulge in Indian Cuisine. The menu also offers a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The chef at Rajput likes to use soya bean oil for cooking which is cholesterol and salt free. Our butter is even 0g Trans fat per serving.
Rajput is the First Indian Virginia Green Restaurant certified by the State of Virginia. Rajput is decorated with jewel-tone elegant fabrics, wooden puppets and hand painted pictures from India on walls throughout for eye appeal. The walls incorporate a color scheme of paprika and saffron. Large paintings of ancient royalty with peace doves in a Rumi-type garden are set on brocade and establish a tone of elegance. Black and white photographs of two famous palaces of Jaipur are framed to add to the décor. These black and white photographs are the work of an artist who spent three months to make them. Dining floor is two tone tiled floor, and bar front is made of hammered copper imported from India.
Rajput has received its share of awards for the past 11 years. It has been Top 50 Hampton Roads restaurants, 25 favorite restaurants, Top 10 Hot restaurants, Best of Norfolk, Platinum Plate award and so on. It has also received an award for one of the best dishes (Spinach Tofu) in Hampton Roads.
